Sacrificial Anode

Sacrificial Anode- is used where it is intended to be dissolved to protect other metallic components. The more active metal is more easily oxidized than the protected metal and corrodes first ..hence the term “sacrificial”.

I am interested in the idea that a material could be considered ‘sacrificial’ in the
way it was deployed in the context of public space.



Examples of sacrificial anodes for application to boat hulls, fuel tanks etc
