The Govan Raid - announced

For obvious reasons there has been a pretty tight security cordon around information about the first public action in my role as artist to Govan Riverside....but enough is now secure in the planning to widen the circle beyond Govan.
This Friday will see The Govan Raid:


Approximately 100 local children and adults will be taking part in the raid - they will plant four flags  on the Govan side of the river and then make their way over the river via the new ferry - in this they will be accompanied by the GalGael Trust who will be rowing one of the boats built in their workshop and by the Strthclyde Fire Brigade in their river boat. The four flags that the raiding party will use to claim back the territory occupied by the new Museum will show images of the contemporary Govan that is invisible from the new Museum.

If you are in Glasgow on Friday you'd be most welcome to join us - be at Govan Cross (opposite the Subway Station) at 11.40am on Friday 29th July 

The total of eight flags (each 1.5 metres x 1 metre) are shown below - the first group four are the flags that will be carried over the Clyde to the site of the Museum:
