And the winner is....

The votes have been officially counted and verified and we can now announce that the walkway along the Clyde adjacent to the Riverside Housing estate will be called HARLAND WAY - from here on.


I heard today from Ethel-May Abel that she has already alerted the River authorities - they will add 'Harland Way Quay' to the River Charts and the mapping section of Glasgow City Council will add Harland Way to the land maps.

I will inscribe the new name into the Waymarkers that I am making for the walkway.

The name Harland refers to the Harland and Wolff shipbuilding yard that occupied the site of the walkway and the Riverside Housing from 1912 till 1963
